We’re Updating Our Website — Tell Us What Would Help You

We’re updating our website, and we want to hear from you first.
Gastroparesis Support Services, Inc. (GSSI) is restarting, and we’re rebuilding GPsupportservices.com. We want the new site to be genuinely useful — not just a nicer-looking homepage, but a place where a patient traveling for care, or a caregiver trying to help, can actually find what they need.
Here’s what GSSI does, in plain terms: we provide non-medical support while you’re being treated. When funding is available, that means hotel stays, food and grocery cards, local rides, and gift bags to help pass the time between tests and treatments. We don’t provide medical treatment itself. Our long-term dream is Jennifer’s GP House — a home away from home for patients and families receiving care — and until that house exists, hotels, food, groceries, and rides are the work, one patient at a time.
We’re asking now because the site is still being rebuilt, and the choices are still open. What pages should come first? What resources should be easy to find? What explanations should be in plain language, not medical jargon? We’d rather ask the people who live this than guess.
If you’re a patient, what information would help you most?
What did you need to know before traveling for testing or treatment? What would have made the trip easier — knowing what help is available, how to ask for it, what to expect when you get there, or something else entirely? What do you wish a site like ours had ready for you on a hard day?
If you’re a caregiver, what do you wish you’d known, or what do you still need?
What information would help you plan a trip, advocate for someone you love, or take care of yourself while you’re supporting them? What would you want in one place, instead of hunting across a dozen sites and groups?
Tell us in the comments on our Facebook post, or send our Facebook page a message. Your answers will help shape what we put on the new site — which pages we build first, which resources we explain clearly, and what we leave out because it doesn’t actually help.
We can’t promise every suggestion will be built, and we’re not announcing a launch date in this post. We can promise we’ll read what you send, and we’ll use it to prioritize the work that matters most to patients and caregivers.
Thank you for helping us rebuild this the right way — around the people it’s for.
You’re not alone, and you don’t have to go through this alone.
